Mid Term Halloween- Junior Training

Optimists

This Halloween break we will be running mini coaching week from Tuesday – Friday.  The coaching will be for those who sailed regularly in Thursday night racing during the summer. We will likely split the group into two based on experience levels. You will need your own boat for this course, otherwise you can charter a club boat,  just contact the team and let us know. Start Sailing 

The start sailing group is for those who have completed a start sailing course this summer. The sessions will be a refresher course to allow sailors to practice the skills learnt on their start sailing course and to fill out their logbook hours. This course comes with use of a club boat.

Basic Skills 

The Basic Skills group is for those who have participated in a basic skills course this summer. The sessions will be a refresher course to allow sailors to practice the skills learnt on their basic skills course and to fill out their logbook hours. You will need your own boat for this course, otherwise you can charter a club boat – just contact the team and let us know – sailing@hyc.ie

Improving Skills 

The Improving Skills group is for those who have participated in a Improving Skills course this summer. The sessions will be a refresher course to allow sailors to practice the skills learnt on their Improving Skills course and to fill out their logbook hours. J80 Adventure

For our teenage juniors, we will be running a mini J80 Adventure course, this condensed course will be a combination of J80 sailing and passage planning using the navigation charts. Sailors should have at least Basic Skills completed before doing this course.

Cara Na Mara

For our youngest members we have a Cara Na Mara course. This course is for those aged 7-9. The course is all about building water confidence and enjoying time on the water. This course comes with use of a club boat.
