Description
In order to undertake the Irish Sailing Safety Boat Certificate, the Quest Howth participant must hold the Irish Sailing National Powerboat Certificate or an equivalent certificate and 20 hours driving experience following qualification. It is strongly recommended that at least one member of a safety boat’s crew should hold a first aid certificate and the Short Range (SRC) VHF radio operator’s
certificate. This course teaches all of safety skills required in safety powerboating role such as escorting dinghies, windsurfers or canoes. Providing safety cover for training fleets, racing fleets or water activities within local communities on inland and inshore areas. It will also qualify you to assist in race management duties during an on-the-water-event.
