Level 2: BASIC SKILLS – 2 Week Course

By the end of this course… Sailing skills + racing skills….

This course runs from 09.30 to 16:30 over 2 weeks and is suitable for children who are aged from 10 to 12 years old.

Experience: Start Sailing or Recommendation from Cara Na Mara Instructor

New for 2025: Junior sailors taking part in Basic Skills will be invited to participate in Thursday Evening dinghy racing to complete their logbook requirements in addition to their chosen HYC course.

What will you need: Wetsuit and booties/old runners. At this level we recommend participants have their own buoyancy aid.

You will also need a boat for this course, either your own, or a Club charter.  Please enquire at the time of booking if you need to charter. Boats are reserved on a first come, first served basis and are priced at €75.00 per 2 week course.
