Fun Friday Muck About Proves Great Fun All Round

By Junior Sailing at Quest Howth

What better way to celebrate the longest day than mucking around on the water with your friends!  Members of all ages got to go on our RIBS last night as part of our Fun Friday series. We had a great time viewing and learning about the wildlife on Ireland’s eye, caught some good waves and discovered a glorious sun trap with calm waters by Balscadden where most of us decided to salute the onset of the sunset by taking a quick dip! Back in the bar later we all had yummy food and drinks as we sadly acknowledged that we would see a little less of our friend the sun from here on out. This coming Friday, it will be fun sailing – so members of all ages are encouraged to grab your dinghies and get out there! Check out our action video from the night here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgKKKdGf0gA&feature=youtu.be

Transition Year Programme with Quest Howth - Discover Sailing

TY PROGRAMME 2018 – 2019

By Junior Sailing at Quest Howth

Transition Year Programme Courses with Quest Howth

The Transition Year programme is taken by students after the Junior Certificate and before the two-year Leaving Certificate available in secondary schools in Ireland. Also known as the gap year it can be optional or mandatory depending on the school’s policy. Nearly 80 per cent of pupils surveyed by the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union (ISSU) found TY to be a worthwhile experience, according to a 2014 report, Transition Year: Exploring the Student Experience.

We have an exciting line-up of Quest Howth – Discover Sailing courses as part of our newly launched Transition Year Programme. Launching in September 2018 right into 2019. We believe this is the perfect ‘Gap Year’ for any transition year student looking to learn new skills on and off the water whilst having fun. Sailing nurtures personal development and enhances communication skills in young adults, equipping them with confidence and new skills that can be later applied to real world situations. Bookmark this page and keep up to date with future course updates.
