Transition Year Programme with Quest Howth - Discover Sailing

Transition Year Programme Courses with Quest Howth

The Transition Year programme is taken by students after the Junior Certificate and before the two-year Leaving Certificate available in secondary schools in Ireland. Also known as the gap year it can be optional or mandatory depending on the school’s policy. Nearly 80 per cent of pupils surveyed by the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union (ISSU) found TY to be a worthwhile experience, according to a 2014 report, Transition Year: Exploring the Student Experience.

We have an exciting line-up of Quest Howth – Discover Sailing courses as part of our newly launched Transition Year Programme. Launching in September 2018 right into 2019. We believe this is the perfect ‘Gap Year’ for any transition year student looking to learn new skills on and off the water whilst having fun. Sailing nurtures personal development and enhances communication skills in young adults, equipping them with confidence and new skills that can be later applied to real world situations.
